The European Framework 7 program “Microbial Research Resource Infrastructure” held their inaugural meeting in and four members of the USCCN Steering committee participated. Dr. K. McCluskey presented the NSF sponsored RCN project. Drs. W. Wilson and K. Boundy-Mills participated to promote engagement by US Scientists in international efforts to develop living microbial germplasm repositories. Dr. D. Smith of the UK is one of the organizers of the MIRRI effort. The event was capped by a visit to the DSMZ collection in Braunschweig.
